First Day With My Camera - BCP

As I've been blogging, I realize that many of the quotes I find come from an early photographer named Ansel Adams. The man was evidently wise in the ways of photography. This quote shows how insiginificant a camera can be if the user does not know how to operate it. You can take high quality pictures with Canon 1D X, but if you are taking overexposed pictures of the sky, there is no beauty in it. What I'm trying to say is, even if you aren't content with the camera you have, you can still take good photos if you learn to know what you are doing.

In this blog, I've selected a few of the photos from my first day with my new camera (Canon EOS Rebe T5). When I first got my camera, I was so excited. I opened it as quick as I could and putting the lens on, connected my strap, and then realized that the battery would have to charge before I could take any pictures. I read in the manual that it would take an agonizing TWO HOURS to charge. My excitement soon turned to lament. But there was nothing I could do about it. I suppose God gave me a lesson in patience. ;) Anyways, I hope you enjoy these pictures. :)

My sister was making quesadillas the night that I got my camera, and I looked at it as a photo opportunity. In this shot, I wanted to get the aspect of my sister working on them (Thank you, Kendra! They were delicious!) ;)

Something I had always wanted to do with my camera... Bokeh in a glared sunset. I hadn't been able to do it with my first camera, so the day I got my camera, the sunset looked pretty good and I was able to accomplish it :)

Dandelions have always amazed me. :) I like how intricate each seed is, and how you can blow them away like dust. Someday, I hope to get a picture of someone blowing the seeds off of a dandelion, but this will have to work for now :P

Summer is thoroughly started, and Monark is just around the corner. If you don't know what Monark is, you will if you keep reading. Monark Springs Campmeeting is an international campmeeting that our church hosts in Monark Springs, Missouri. All are welcome to attend. :) To me, Monark is one of the greatest times of the year. God blesses us greatly and sends divine singing and preaching.

For the Fourth of July, to celebrate our nation's birthday, we went to Arkansas and went tubing on Beaver Lake, then went to Eureka Springs for some shopping and dinner. :) God greatly blesses me, and I'm so thankful to Him. Until next time, I'm out. :)

Canon EOS Rebel T5 - BCP

True, indeed, is the beauty of God's creation. When taking a photo of a dazzling sunset, a flowing river, a beautiful flower - any of these things - it is the true beauty of God, captured through the lens of a camera.

Well, well, well. I have some apologies to make. I know I haven't posted in a long time, and I'm sorry about that. I've been trying to save up for a new camera... and I finally got it! It is the newest Canon camera of the Rebel series, the T5. I've had so much fun taking photos with it, and with Lightroom available again, I can now view the RAW files on our Windows computer. ;) Ready or not, here come the pictures! :D 

I was in the car, and I had my camera, eager to take pictures. (The excitement of my "new" camera hasn't worn off yet, if you can't tell ;) ) It started to rain, so I started to mess with the manual focus and DOF (depth of field) of my camera. I tried to get the raindrops in focus and the background out of focus. If you can tell, one car in the opposite lane has their blinker on, so one light is shining. :) 

My sister and I had a dentist appointment on our city square, and while my sister (Kendra) got her teeth checked out, I took it as a photo-op. Bein only a couple of days after I got my camera, I was extremely excited about it. :) Our city has a neat little old-time square in downtown, and it has some pretty cool alleys and old buildings. This picture was inspired by a picture I had seen taken at the same place for someone's family portraits. I thought It would be cool to see the way the bricks look as they get farther away.

This photo was taken of our mailbox the day that I got my camera (What an exciting day!). :)  One of the biggest perks that I saw in DSLR cameras over other cameras is the focus points and DOF. I was playing around with the words on our mailbox and liked getting them in and out of focus. It was a cool experience and I'd love to try more photo adventures with a similar concept.

I have "graduated" from Junior High School (8th grade) and will begin High School in August :) Other than that, I don't have much to say right now.
