Sequoias... and a Friend! - Trip West

Another really cool place we visited, which was quite similar to the Redwoods, was the Sequoia National Park. This time, though, it wasn't just our family. After a long time with just family, we went to Sunday night service in Fresno, California, and met up with our friend Damar Randle! The following day, we decided, on a spur of the moment decision, to invite him to come along with us to see the Sequoias!

My parents were in the front...

...and thanks to my escort, we followed behind. :)

It was a cool park, with plenty of trails to walk.

I FINALLY saw... a bear!

This tree had been burned in the split.

Damar knows where it's at: wearing a Missouri shirt (note the word "superior") at a California park.

This was a cool, old cabin.

I loved the abundance of wildlife on our trip!

You could get so close to the animals without spooking them

Plus, who doesn't like deer?

It's hard to realize just how big this is, but it's a double tree!

Jump shot!
General Sherman!

A hollow tree, with Kendra standing in front for perspective :)

I loved the trails and the sun!

Pinecone!

Pinecone with a sun glare

Serious Damar!

Just a standard Sequoia. These trees are phenomenal.

Another trail shot.

So tall!

The road went right along the trees, winding in and out. The trek down from the mountain was insane, and a little hard on the brakes. :P

Here's a shot up the tree with a burned hole in it.
This was a very fun trip, especially because Damar was able to come along! Definitely can't wait to visit California again... and I'm sure Damar agrees! :) That's all for now!

Golden Gate Bridge - Trip West

Hey! I'm back at it, again. We went to San Francisco specifically to see the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a blast. Regrettably, we weren't able to see visit anything else in the city, there's not a lot else to offer. Hopefully you enjoy!

Me!

New places, new vegetation.

A more traditional shot. It's cool to see how it actually bows up in the middle.

Here's a port of boats off to the side...

Alcatraz Island!

Another boat.

Bird!

More bird!

A little more of the bay and bridge.

Even though it was Sunday, there was still quite a bit of traffic.

This was one of the first shots I took after we stopped.

Hope you liked them, as always. Later!

Crescent City, CA - Trip West

California has been known for its beaches, and I finally was able to visit one, if only for a short time. Crescent City, CA had some really fun beaches, even with an overcast, cloudy sky. Unfortunately, this was the only time we were able to stop at the beach on our excursion, but I'm thankful for the photos I was able to get.

A first glimpse at the ocean from the road.

My only comment: dinner was delicious

These are ALL clams... O.o

I threw this one in for all the fans. We didn't stop, but it looked cool... if only I liked coffee.

I love the ocean... so cold on my feet, though.

I know, it's a bland picture... but it's the ocean. Lol ;)

Me and the ocean :D

I loved the scenery, rocks, and clams

Some more wonderful scenery, with a cloudy sky -.-

It was really windy, and I'm sure these guys were having fun.

The beach wasn't really crowded since it was a little cold and cloudy.

Waves, waves, and more waves.
Hope you all enjoyed! I know, I'm moving at a snail's pace, but hopefully you're enjoying it anyways. Later!
