Acromioclavicular Separation - BCP

QUOTE:
"If I could tell the story in words, I wouldn't have to lug around a camera." - Lewis Hine

"A picture speaks a thousand words" as the old saying goes. It's true. A lot of times, you can't really capture feeling in writing as well as photography. When people have a visual of what is going on, it's a lot easier to discern what is going on.

I haven't blogged in a bit, but that was partly due to our church campmeeting in Monark Springs, Missouri, and secondly due to an injury I sustained during the campmeeting. But more about that later... right now, I want to post some pictures. :P

I took this photo one afternoon while I was playing around with focus and bokeh. I really like the blurred background and the fescue that is in tight focus.

This was part of an adventure I had while in Kansas, at my cousins' grandparents' farm. We were riding the fourwheeler, and while we went past a tree, my cousin yelled, "Snake!" I hurried back to get my camera and then went to take some pictures. This is my favorite one, because I got the tongue of the bright green snake when it was out.

This photo was taken during sunset. I like messing around with the amazing focus of my new camera, and this is the results of that. :)

This is a roly poly as it was passing my lens. Very difficult to get these photos in focus, because they move so quickly!
I hope you enjoyed the above photos. :) Now, I will explain the title of this blog post. During the afternoon between services, some guys went to the YMCA to play basketball. I was playing, too. I was dribbling up the court someone came from behind and accidentally bumped me. I lost my balance, and rather than try to brace my fall with my hands, I held on to the ball. I didn't want our team to lose possession. I landed directly on my right shoulder and heard it pop when I hit. I bounced up pretty quickly, but realized that something wasn't right. I couldn't raise my right arm. I decided I wouldn't be playing any more. We had some friends check it out, and they thought it was dislocated, but didn't know how to correct it. We went ot Urgent Care in Joplin, Missouri to see if they could pop it back into socket. When we got there, they took X-rays and determined that it was acromioclavicular separation, not a shoulder out of socket. In English, that meant that I had a torn ligament in between my neck and shoulder-blade. I've had to wear a sling since then, until yesterday. Yesterday, I really felt that the Lord blessed my shoulder, and I feel much better now. :) School starts August 13th, so I might be busier with homework, since it's my first year of high school. It's kind of scary to think that I'm a freshman now. Wow. Time flies. I'm really excited about taking Spanish I this year. I just hope my shoulder will allow me to carry my backpack. Lol. That's all I have, so adios, amigos! ;P
